Just Magnolia - Masking.....

I hope you are all well and are looking forward to the weekend!

This week there is a new challenge at Just Magnolia. The challenge this week is masking. For my card I have masked three Magnolia images. Tilda, Presents and Basket of presents. I have coloured them with distress inks. The background is distressed with tattered rose and I have stamped Magnolia snowflakes in sepia versafine around the edge and distressed the edge with walnut stain.

I have added stickles to my image too. The paper has been distressed with stained walnut and I have added liquid pearls to the scalloped edge which was made using a fiskars border punch. The Magnolia hearts I distressed with tattered rose and vintage photo and edged with walnut stain.

Thank you so very much for looking and a big, big, thank you for all your comments they mean so much to me! I wish you a wonderful weekend. I have the family for Sunday lunch so looking forward to that. Please do go and see the rest of the DT creations they are just amazing!

What a fabulous day.......

Wow! what a fantastic day I had at the NEC! It was my absolute privilege to meet Jacqui and travel with her by train up to Birmingham. You are just as wonderful in real life as I thought you would be. Thank you so much Jacqui for being my travel buddy. I was so excited and happy to be asked by Barbro and John of Magnolia to demo for them in the morning. It was also my great honour to be demoing with the most fabulous, sweetest, all time brilliantly talented Tab!

Thank you so much to John and Barbro who were kindness itself. It was just the greatest pleasure to meet you both. I was just amazed to be part of such a special day. So big, big thank you's for letting me spend some time in the magical world of Magnolia!

I still can't believe that I actually met so many crafters in real life! These were some of the girls I met Marlene and Rach and their Bambino's. Bev, Marcea, Dawny P, Caz, Kim, Kim, Mel, Shirley, Jo, Tara to name but a few. It was incredible so sorry if I have missed you out, but it was a crazy day! I also met up with the Crafts U Love stand they are just so lovely Paula, Geoff and of course the wonderful, wonderful Tracy!

This is one of the projects I brought to the show. Tab had the most to die for creations too oh it is just wonderful to actually see them and hold them!

This is how my Advent calender started with these small matchboxes.

Two Bind-it-All covers.

I covered the covers with paper then I painted the matchboxes with gesso.

I then painted them inside and out with crackle paint.

I then distressed them with distress ink.

I then glimmer misted them inside and out.

I then punched out circles and stamped numbers onto them. I punched out little hearts and using pins attached them to my boxes. I cut off the pin inside and added paper to cover. I then stuck them altogether and put the top and bottom on.

This is the finished top of my calender. I have sprayed my flowers with glimmer mist and added stickles.

Here is a close up of the top.

A better view of the finished draws.

My completed Advent Calender.

Thank you so much for looking. To everyone I missed at the show I really hope that I can catch up with you another day.

Just Magnolia Monthly Challenge - Distressing...

Today we start a new challenge for Just Magnolia. This is the beginning of our monthly challenge sponsored by Simon Says Stamp you could win $50 to spend in their store!

This month's challenge is distressing and the most fabulously talented Chris Dark has very kindly made a fantastic tutorial for us. Thank you Chris you are so inspiring and your card is stunning.

I have made a wall hanging. I have coloured my Magnolia image with distress inks. I have distressed my edges with Tim's distressing tool. I have sprayed my papers with glimmer mist.

I have used a grungeboard hinge and painted crackle paint over this and then sprayed it with glimmer mist.

I have edged my papers and flowers with vintage photo. I have added loads of stickle glue over my project. My sentiment was so very kindly sent to me by the delicious Tab. Thank you so much big hugs and kisses.

I stamped the snowflake out onto acetate three times using brown stazon and then covered it with dries clear glue and sprinkled glitter over them. Then when they were dry cut them out and pined them together with a pearl brad.

Thank you so very much for looking and I urge you to go and check out the stunning creations by the Just Magnolia DT. I would like to say a big, big, thank you for all your sweet comments they really touch me thank you so much!

I will be going to the NEC in Birmingham on Saturday and I am so very excited about meeting everyone who will be going. Lots of the Just Magnolia girls will be there and I have never met them before. Tab, Bev and Marcea will be demoing on the Magnolia stand. I am also going to have a little go (yikes). It is going to be wonderful to meet them!
