Wrapped Tilda for Christmas....

Hello,

I am still making Christmas cards! I really hope that you all have yours done and dusted by now!

I have coloured my Magnolia image with distress inks. I coloured the ribbon behind Tilda with frayed burlap and then sprayed some glimmer mist onto my craft sheet and picked that up with my paintbrush and coloured over the frayed burlap. This has given it such a gorgeous shimmer. I have added touches of stickle glue to her.

I have glimmer misted the flowers and then added more stickles.

The paper I have stamped snowflakes onto and around the edges. Then I have distressed with frayed burlap and stickled the edge. I also went around the edge with a pricking tool.

Thank you so much for looking and I hope your Christmas preparations are going well.

What a fabulous day.......

Hello,

Wow! what a fantastic day I had at the NEC! It was my absolute privilege to meet Jacqui and travel with her by train up to Birmingham. You are just as wonderful in real life as I thought you would be. Thank you so much Jacqui for being my travel buddy. I was so excited and happy to be asked by Barbro and John of Magnolia to demo for them in the morning. It was also my great honour to be demoing with the most fabulous, sweetest, all time brilliantly talented Tab!

Thank you so much to John and Barbro who were kindness itself. It was just the greatest pleasure to meet you both. I was just amazed to be part of such a special day. So big, big thank you's for letting me spend some time in the magical world of Magnolia!

I still can't believe that I actually met so many crafters in real life! These were some of the girls I met Marlene and Rach and their Bambino's. Bev, Marcea, Dawny P, Caz, Kim, Kim, Mel, Shirley, Jo, Tara to name but a few. It was incredible so sorry if I have missed you out, but it was a crazy day! I also met up with the Crafts U Love stand they are just so lovely Paula, Geoff and of course the wonderful, wonderful Tracy!

This is one of the projects I brought to the show. Tab had the most to die for creations too oh it is just wonderful to actually see them and hold them!

This is how my Advent calender started with these small matchboxes.

Two Bind-it-All covers.

I covered the covers with paper then I painted the matchboxes with gesso.

I then painted them inside and out with crackle paint.

I then distressed them with distress ink.

I then glimmer misted them inside and out.

I then punched out circles and stamped numbers onto them. I punched out little hearts and using pins attached them to my boxes. I cut off the pin inside and added paper to cover. I then stuck them altogether and put the top and bottom on.

This is the finished top of my calender. I have sprayed my flowers with glimmer mist and added stickles.

Here is a close up of the top.

A better view of the finished draws.

My completed Advent Calender.

Thank you so much for looking. To everyone I missed at the show I really hope that I can catch up with you another day.

Just Magnolia week 25 - Special Monthly Challenge - Flowers....

Hello,

Can you believe that it is Friday already and October! Wow this year is so speedy!

Today we have the start of a new Monthly challenge at Just Magnolia. Which is sponsored by Heidi at Simon Says Stamps. The prize is a gift voucher of $50 to spend in the store.

The challenge for this month is to use a Handmade flower on your project and a Magnolia image.

We have the honour of Michele of My Little Space on the WWW giving us an amazing tutorial on how to make her stunning Handmade flowers. Thank you so much Michele you are truly talented and have given me so much inspiration!

I didn't have any punches to make my flower. So I stamped a flower image onto grungepaper and cut it out. Then I distressed it with fired brick and sprayed it with glimmer mist. After I made my flower I then added distress stickles to the petals. The tutorial I found to make my flower is here and it is by the most amazingly inspirational Wendy Vecchi.

I have coloured my image with distress inks. I masked Tilda onto the rolling pin. The background is distressed with tattered rose. I have added some stickles. I have used some liquid pearls on my swirl. The papers are distressed around the edges with vintage photo.

The Just Magnolia dt have made the most stunning creations and out of this world flowers please do go and check them out!

Summer Days Magnolia DT card.....

Hello,

I have made a card today with a new image sent to me in my Magnolia Summer Lazy Days DT kit. She is just so adorable I really loved inking her up and colouring her. I used distress inks and added stickles to the flowers. I have distressed the background with broken china. The flowers are sprayed with glimmer mist. I have quickutzed the leaves.

Before I go. An update on my Saturday baby sitting 10 week baby Isabella. Poor baby was not happy at all, couldn't put her down at all, crying, then sick all over me. We didn't realise she had swine flu. Poor Claire has been out of her mind with worry trying to get the temperature down. Just as she was on the cusp of going to hospital it broke and I am so very happy to report she is on the mend now.

Thank you so much for looking.

Second Monthly Challenge Just Magnolia Altered Paper Bag....

Hello,

I hope you are all well and enjoying the start to your week. Today we have the start of a new challenge on our Second Monthly Challenge at Just Magnolia. We were given the idea by our very own amazingly talented Rach to alter a paper bag. Well, panic or what! This is what I came up with and in the end I really enjoyed myself. So, thank you so much Rach for your brilliant idea.

The front of my bag I coloured my image with distress inks and distressed the background with antique linen and frayed burlap. I stamped my borders with frayed burlap too. I used the nestie die cut for my sentiment. I have distressed my flowers with frayed burlap .

These are pages from the inside. Again I have coloured with distress inks and added ribbon and lace to my layers.

These are the tags that I have tucked inside my bag. I cut some bazzill for my tag shape and distressed everything with antique linen and frayed burlap. The heart I have distressed with frayed burlap and then sprayed with glimmer mist.

This is the back of my bag I die cut my shape from my nesties and sprayed the background with glimmer mist. I then stamped onto vellum and cut out my butterfly then ran this through the cuttlebug to emboss it. Finally adding some stickle glue for glitter.

Well thank you so much for looking and I wish you all a wonderful week. Please do go and have a look at the rest of the DT's work it is just amazingly fabulous you will be overloaded with inspiration!
